“You’re Too Serious…Get Silly!…”

It’s the truth…I’m a simpleton.

Every time that I watch “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” I laugh until I cry. It is absurd, and nonsensical, and wholly improbable, but I don’t care.

It’s just like The Three Stooges to me…I always laugh. I love foolishness. I love “slapstick” humor. A belly laugh is one of the most powerful healing events one can experience. My advice? Find something that will cause you to laugh uncontrollably, and abandon yourself to it. Give yourself away, and laugh until your sides hurt and tears of hilarity fill your eyes.

Christmastime is touted as a wonderful time of happiness and joy. Truth is, it usually isn’t. There is a lot of stress, a lot of expectations…and maybe you can’t meet them all. Odds are, you WON’T. So, what you need is a laugh.

Jesus is not presiding over all of this pressure and commercialism. Don’t think for a second that He is. Jesus is about JOY and PEACE. If you don’t have those, you don’t have Christmas.

I say again…LAUGH until it hurts. You’ll feel better as a result, and you will come closer to Christ than any amount of gifts could possibly attain.

I wrote it before, and will write it again…SMILE MORE, THINK LESS. Let laughter be your gift to all that you meet.

Many Blessings To All…

“Just Because…”

Are you too afraid to laugh? You may believe that you aren’t – I mean, everyone enjoys a good laugh, right?

But let’s face it, it’s not that hard to laugh when something is designed to be funny, like a joke. It is unfortunate, yet that is about the only time people laugh, and that is evidence of a problem; we have painfully narrow, constricted boundaries in place that tell us when it is OK to laugh and be happy. That’s no good at all.

I believe God is a real comedian, in that the nature of that Infinite Power is one of joy and bliss, and one of the greatest expressions of that beautiful energy is laughter. We need it. It is a healing force that feels great, too. But we spend more time stifling it than we do letting it out.

Yes, we are afraid. We are afraid of what others will think of us if we are laughing and happy all of the time. Maybe she’s crazy? He must be nuts? Not to mention the fact that we get a lot more attention when we appear sad or down, which is a real treat for an attention-starved psyche. There are scores of people who mope around their entire lives hoping someone will pat them on the head or feel sorry for them. But that sort of attention is a trap; it does nothing to improve one’s life. In the end, it has the opposite effect…it’s destructive.

Here’s a little tidbit that maybe you weren’t aware of: you can laugh and be happy just because. It is not against the law to laugh in the absence of a joke.

Every moment of every day you are free to imagine, dream and create whatever future you desire.

Every moment of every day you are free to help someone who needs help.

Every moment of every day you are free to move closer to the blissful realization of your oneness with the Creator and all that is…to become aware of your own deathless Divinity, and to revel in the magic and mystery of existence.

That’s plenty of reasons to smile, to be excited, and to fill your world with healing laughter.

Don’t be afraid to laugh. I encourage you to make yourself laugh for no reason at all some time, and keep it up – then notice how you feel. Look around at all the blessings and endless possibilities and let it out!

Many Blessings To All…
