“STOP Kissing Rings…”

The hour is late…I ought to be in bed. But here I am, typing away.

I feel anger…a base emotion. And what am I angry about? Gurus and Swamis and preachers and priests.

Maybe I’m not angry about them, per se, but about their “followers.”

This is an angry post…or perhaps “frustrated and indignant” would be a better description. These people are closer to “God” than you? If they are, it is only because you do not trust your own heart. You seek wisdom from another, all the while dismissing the fact that the wisdom is within you. How much easier it is to be “told’ than to trust what is within.

Support me with your money and I can show you the truth of God. Really? God doesn’t need your money, and is not more powerful in one person than another. If you trust your own, inner voice, your intuition, then you have all the guide that you will ever require.

Yes, you may listen to my words, or the words of some other spiritual “leader,” and gain something from it…but know this…you are embracing a substitute for knowledge that is already yours. You are abandoning your own, innate wisdom, and presuming the pre-eminence of another.

Only YOU can know what God has designed for your life – STOP kissing the rings of “spiritual authorities,” and trust that Spirit that is within you to lead and guide. THIS is wisdom. All that you need to know is already present.

Do you have that courage? Can you accept that the Infinite will share with you EVERYTHING if only you will trust?

Yes, take a guide…but not for long. The journey is yours, and yours alone. You need not the crutch of a “guru.” They may point the way…but the path is yours to walk. TRUST that which is within you, and discover the worlds that Creation has set aside for you.

Many Blessings To All…

“October 31, 2006…”

From my journals, unedited. I determined much later that what I was describing in this entry was a somewhat haphazard and simplified description of karma, and the role of the Spirit. I can’t say that all of it is entirely “accurate.” But it most assuredly came from a higher wisdom, (though through an imperfect vehicle). It’s worth some meditation – there’s power in it, and Truth.

“There is nothing on this planet that hasn’t always been here. The brand new Lexus at the car lot, the space shuttle, satellite TV. Everything was created from materials that were always here.

We’ve separated them, mixed them, heated, froze, pounded and stretched them to create new things. And everything the future brings will be created from things that are here right now. So where did all these things really come from?…Imagination and Inspiration; forces from a powerful, creative Spirit.

The Spirit is the great, mysterious intangible. The fact that science can explain how sound travels, and how the vibrations are handled by the mechanisms of the inner ear, and how the brain converts this information does nothing to explain the mystery of WHY? Science can describe the process that long study and observation have “discovered,” but they have “discovered” nothing – it’s always worked…we’ve just given it names and explanations. This is good, because, like a car, we need a good mechanic to fix the mechanical stuff when it breaks.

But think of this – no matter how wonderfully the car runs, it won’t run until someone gets in and turns the key. The Spirit is who turns our key. The beauty of it is that we aren’t just mechanical. We don’t have to be acted on by an outside force in order to go; we have an internal driver.

We send orders and thoughts to this human machine and, if it is in good working order, it responds. Our bodies are incredibly intricate communication devices; we need them to interact in the physical world. But we don’t need them to exist.

We are eternal. I don’t know why we have chosen to have this physical experience; maybe earth is a big playground. And the game? To constrain yourself in a physical form and see if you can advance your physical life form to “the next level” in one lifetime…maybe all the way to “enlightenment!”

Time is nothing in the world of Spirit, so one lifetime would be like a short video game. If you really want to play at the advanced level of difficulty, you might jump in as a Third World child. The Spirits that “played” Jesus, or Buddha, or Gandhi – man, are they good! I wonder who they’ll turn up in next?

Being a Spirit, being constantly connected to the source of Creation…well, experiencing physical weakness and difficulties, as well as joy, may be a very exciting challenge to that which lacks nothing. Maybe the Spirit who led Jesus is in me, or my wife, or my doctor – struggling mightily to get our attention…to no avail.

If we could learn to open up and receive, we could wake up tomorrow, never have another worry or lack, and change the lives of thousands upon thousands for the better. Something to think about.

Only pain can “speak” to pain, only hurt knows how to speak to hurt. You cannot sense in others what you have not experienced yourself [this entry seems to be out of context to the rest of the message, but it came through at that moment].

You know, maybe that’s the lesson! The game. Life is a game, and we’re here to see how much good we can create in the finite amount of time that we have our bodies. Try to create the circumstances of each day. See how many people you can get on the path. Interesting.”

That’s the end of the entry from October 31, 2006. Something to ponder.

“Don’t Go Down With The Ship!…”

In spiritual growth, it seems that each new level brings, (or at least can bring), a fair measure of physical discomfort [Not to mention confusion]. The fact is that, sometimes, “evolving” to a new vibration/level hurts.

I am no stranger to physical pain. I have been blessed with a few physical “conditions” that hurt all of the time – sometimes a lot, sometimes at the level with which I have grown accustomed – my “steady-state.” But spiritual transition is a different sort of pain, and this relates most-particularly to the use of Sanskrit mantra.

Times will come during your practice where it is like walking face-first into a brick wall. Being a good practitioner, one tries to “bull forward,” but that doesn’t work if Creation has determined that it is “transition time.”

This has happened in my life very frequently of late. I will be practicing with a specific mantra, with a specific goal that I am working towards, then one day, out-of-the-blue, BAM! It’s done. I have come to a stopping point – not where or when I expected.

There are times when these “stops”are merely ego-resistance, and you push through that resistance and finish your discipline. But there are other times, (like today for me), that you intuitively realize that the Infinite has put the brakes on your plan; there is a new direction/mantra that is now where you need to be to continue to grow. Every time that this has happened in my life, it has hurt – a lot; physically and mentally.  And, unfortunately, UPS doesn’t roll up with an Overnight Package with the new mantra/direction. No, I have to delve into my mantra resources and “Intuit” where to go next. It’s exasperating – but it feels so much better when I find it.

Spiritual growth “transitions” like these are in many ways like giving birth. Truthfully, that is exactly what you are doing; shedding on old skin so that you may “broaden” [see the "About" section of this blog if you want to know what that means].

And to top it all off, you may not know what the growth was that occurred; but you WILL know in time. It will reveal itself subtly in your life as you go. Why does it hurt?

It hurts because a higher/faster spiritual vibration is now operative in your body, and that can be overwhelming to the body’s energy system, (its prana), until it adjusts. Some aspect of your energy has “outgrown” its surroundings, and your energy body has to expand to accommodate this new dynamic. These unsettling adjustments can feel like pin-pricks…very uncomfortable. And the accompanying confused emotions can push the body and ego into a defensive posture, which the ego will translate into physical pain in order to avoid any change that will result in it having less control; (and spiritual growth will always yield that result).

So, tonight I have a new mantra. Not surprisingly, it fits perfectly with the direction that my life and work have been recently moving. Yes, sometimes growth hurts…but it is always worth it. The world belongs to those who listen to God, and who move when moving is advised.

We are all on our own, individual boat, carrying each across the sea from death to life. Sometimes, one boat won’t do the trick. If you sense that your boat is sinking, don’t be a damn fool about it. There is another boat… there! just off the starboard side. It’s nicer than the one you’re on, and God put it there for your journey. The water might be cold and uncomfortable, but dive in and swim to it anyway. This is how the journey continues. “Going down with the ship” makes good Hollywood stories, and glorious reading, too. But in the spiritual world, it is your WISDOM, not your stubborn refusal to walk away from what is no longer working, that is heroic.

“February 18, 2007…”

The latter part of 2006 and the beginning months of 2007 were some of the most significant and powerful encounters that I have had with hawks, owls, and eagles. I have about 14 journals that are full of, among other things, the many experiences that occurred. I only included a tiny fraction of those experiences in my book, Spirit of the Rising Hawk, www.risinghawkfoundation.com/BookPage.html; just enough to illustrate the leading of the Spirit and the power of synchronicity.

During this time, I buried many hawks and owls that had lost their lives to cars and trucks, and I had buried them in the woods on our property behind the home where we then lived.

What follows is part of an entry that I wrote on February 18, 2007. I have changed none of the words.

“Speaking of hawks and owls, on Saturday morning, ______, [My daughter. I left her name out for this post], was saying how “freaky” it was looking out our kitchen window at 3:00am. She was downstairs heating [her daughter's] bottle, and she said she saw “all these shadows” out our kitchen window. This window faces the woods where the hawks and owls are buried, which she knows absolutely nothing about. So I casually asked her, “What kind of Shadows?” She said, “I don’t know.” I asked here how big they were, and she held her hands apart to a size that pretty much matched the wingspan of an adult owl or hawk. o I said, “were they on the ground?’ She said “no.” I didn’t ask here anything else, and the conversation shifted to other things. I hope she writes about it in her journal. I can’t help but wonder if she was seeing the spirits of the hawks and owls that I have buried there – if they have stayed here to protect me somehow. A crazy thought, perhaps, but intriguing.”

That was what I wrote. Five days later, I suffered a massive heart attack, (which I, obviously, survived).

Frankly, I probably should have been dead. My wife drove me to the nearest hospital, which took 40 minutes. That’s 40 minutes of no treatment – I attempted to use breath control to manage the pain and symptoms as we drove.

At the hospital, they did not have the facilities to take me for emergency surgery to remove the blockage, so they filled me with huge amounts of clot-busting drugs. The decision was made that if I was going to survive, I had to be air-lifted to another hospital. But there was a problem, of sorts. It was incredibly windy that day – so much so, the helo pilots were left to decide if they thought they could manage it. They decided to go for it.

I was conscious during all of this, cracking jokes even, (if I was going to die, I figured I might as well leave on a happy note). During the flight, I had visions. Skeptics would say that it was the drugs, but I know better…I wasn’t that far “out of it.”

I flew over Ireland, or Scotland, to be sure. And it was beautiful. It was like a movie being played on a screen that was the helo bulkhead near my feet – but my eyes were closed. When I opened my eyes, nothing was there. Then, during the surgery to place a stent, I had an argument with a “being” about “returning.” I never saw this force that I was walking with in the vision, but the energy was male. And, there was a large hawk, (more like the size of an eagle in the Vision), and it landed close over my head in a tree. I intended to “stay” there, but this power walking beside me would not allow it.

During the time of the flight and the surgery, I “came and went” several times. No, there was never a point where I “died,” or flat-lined in the physical sense, but I most assuredly was straddling two dimensions at once, and did it numerous times.

I have no doubt in my mind that what I wrote on February 18, 2007, was a revelation. The hawks and owls WERE staying around to protect me, and they did. I didn’t grasp what it was that they were protecting me from at the time, but I am alive today because, in some way, their power enabled me to live when all the odds were against it.

I have not been the same person since those days. I have a heightened sense of intuition that enables me to see right into the very soul of those who come to me to walk “The Mystic’s Path.” And it is a white flame that burns bullshit and lies in a hurry. This is often discomforting to those sitting across from me, but it comes as it comes. I just “know” things that have not been shared with me. This gift does not operate all of the time – it only comes forth when I am one-on-one with someone…teaching a “higher” truth.

This life that we have been given is so amazing, so enchanted, so unbelievable, and so often inexplicable. But do we really need to know the “why?” Embrace the wonderful experiences that you are given – KNOW that everything has a purpose; there are no coincidences. God never ceases to speak, and teach, and guide, and has no limitations as to what or who can be used to convey the message. Pay attention! Life is happening!

“The Extraction Contraction…”

The material world is “maya,” an illusion. And although we may think we are physical beings moving through a physical world, this too is an illusion. We are really receivers floating through a kaleidoscopic sea of frequency and what we extract from this sea and transform into physical reality is but one channel from many that can be extracted out of the hologram. – Michael Talbot (author of The Elegant Universe).

Wow, I love this quote.

“God” is the “kaleidoscopic sea of frequency,” that from which manifestations are built, what we extract from, in what we call our physical world.

EVERYTHING  is contained within this sea of frequency, every aspect of what we know as God. The reason that this is so exciting to me goes back to an earlier blog that I wrote concerning Sanskrit mantra, “Continuing, Part III…”[Might want to go back and read that again].

Every Sanskrit mantra is a specific frequency, a specific “aspect” of the ALL. And each repetition of a mantra serves as a contraction that gradually “gives birth,” or “extracts” the particular manifestation with which it is connected. So, I have a revelation of Sanskrit mantra as an “Extraction Contraction.” It is the ultimate tool for turning that which is formless into a form – a “solid” that you can use within your life – be it a thing, or a circumstance, or dynamic spiritual growth, etc. How long it takes for the frequency to manifest into a physical reality varies, just like a human birth; for some, there are a lot of contractions required, for others, very few. The number of contractions necessary, (when speaking of Sanskrit mantra), depends on how much sludge and blockage there is that must be overcome.

I suppose that I could go on-and-on, but the critical revelation that came through this quote was the amazing, (and to me, anyway), very powerful and functional description of what mantra is and does.

Sanskrit mantra is a specific channel, a frequency/vibration, that matches the “signature” of a particular aspect of the Divine that you wish to be operative in your life. Continued use of a particular mantra serves to contract/squeeze that specific frequency out of the reservoir of the God-force at the base of your spine, and into your physical “reality.”

A mantra is an “Extraction Contraction.” Give that some deep thought. It’s an amazing thing.

“A shaky start…”

Well, the first post that started this train, “More Power Than You Can Imagine is RIGHT THERE…use it,” back on November 26th, was a bit shaky. It felt a bit “forced.

Now, it seems that this message has finished with the previous post, “The Body…” Four posts, each one a little more free-flowing and intuitive than the last. That is a lot of words for what, really, is uncomplicated – but somehow extremely difficult to make real and describe.

I hope that all of those words prove to be a blessing to someone. It seems, superficially, to be at odds with the name of the post, “The Broadening.” It seems strange to use so many words that speak of “constricting,” and “narrowing,” when your blog is about “broadening.” Sometimes the Spirit speaks in ways that at first blush are contradictory. But there is no contradiction.

In order to become ONE, expansive, without limits, you must first raise your vibration by squeezing and narrowing the energy within – becoming the jet stream of the “pressure-washer”. This gives you the thrust to propel you into “space.”

“The Body…”

You need your body. It is a gift – the brain, the ability to perceive Truth and consciousness – these are required in order to reach full union with ALL that is. Primarily, because it serves as the tool by which you are able to apply the pressure that constricts the space wherein you dormant spiritual energy lies. Without the body and mind, you have no means by which to focus the power and pull it on its journey up through your chakras. Think of it as your own, personal toothpaste tube. All is toothpaste, and you wish to merge the paste in your tube with the paste that is without form – to achieve final “enlightenment” and the ultimate love of the Supreme.

I called the body a “thin membrane” in my last post. It is so thin, in fact, that spiritual energy regularly passes through it. In the world of the Spirit, it is sort of an “invisible” bottle; yet it still “contains” spiritual energy, despite not being separate from it.

Back to analogies. Your body, this spiritually “invisible membrane,” contains the entirety of the potential energy of the ocean, while it floats in the ocean. So, what’s the problem? It is limited by form, because form, by its very nature, is a set of limitations. So, the idea is to squeeze the ocean within your “form,” so that it may join and be fully one with the expansiveness of the entire “ocean,” FREE, no longer hindered by the illusion of separation, or the apparent confines of your body.

To have the ability to do this, to be in a human form, is a great gift – the greatest gift. There must be the intellectual capacity to conceive of this spiritual truth before you can live it. Other forms have not yet evolved to that place. So, it is only through being a human being that you can “squeeze” yourself into your Self, (capital “S”).

Many Blessings To All…

“Continuing, Part III…”

All Sanskrit mantras have a “tightening” effect on the reservoir of spiritual energy in the Kundalini chakra. What is amazing about the mystical vibrations of these words are their ability to be specific in one or two areas of the ALL contained within your personal holding tank.

EVERY aspect of the Divine is contained in this stew of potential that is within you, all mixed together. A Sanskrit mantra “tightens” the area surrounding a single aspect and forces it “up and out,” where it can powerfully affect a certain set of circumstances. It can be anything from removing obstacles to healing, to providing a spiritual “armor” of protection, to increasing your experience of abundance, (of anything that happens to be your intent), or expanding your awareness and experience of Divine love and dynamic peace.

There is only sunlight, (spiritual energy/power), and you are already THAT. You are like a bottle full of water, floating in the water that you are filled with. Your body is the thinnest of membranes that only appears to separate you from the rest of the water – which is the entire potential of the Divine, in all of its magnificence.

If you wish to live in great spiritual power and wisdom, beyond all that you can ask or think, you must choose to do so. Your goal is to open the “lid” that you have placed on your own bottle, and to start the “squeezing” process, the building up of pressure upon the diffuse potential, until it is “forced” into the narrow space of your “spiritual vertebrae” and begins to travel upwards, and outwards. It is then that you have pulled the trigger on the “pressure washer,” and can begin to experience the incredible, focused energy of Creation. This not only blesses you, but anyone and everyone with whom you come into contact. Learn meditation and breath control. Become established in the practice of stillness. Embrace the practice of Sanskrit mantras to enhance your experience of that which you already are. These are the keys to “tightening” the sunlight, to becoming a magnifying glass for this light, to having it “rise up.”

Many Blessings To All…

“To Continue…”

A “continuation” of sorts from my last blog entry…

Just above the top of your head is a “spiritual” opening, like he large end of a funnel, and it is through this opening that sunlight,” (spiritual energy), enters into your body. It pours in and travels to a “reservoir” of that is located at the base of the spine, and there it sits. [In many people, those who are not aware of its presence or do not develop a practice to utilize it, it never really moves from that place].

Among mystics and some shamans, this area is considered to be a chakra – a spinning, invisible disc of energy, of which they are 7 major ones in your “energy body.” It is these chakras that influence the functioning of the physical body, so, if a chakra is blocked by some negative energy, it cannot spin freely, which can result in the manifestation of physical and mental maladies of all sorts.

The energy that pours into your “funnel,” through what is called the “crown” chakra, and fills your reservoir at the base of your spine, (commonly known as the kundalini shakti), has the power to heal anything, do anything, and manifest anything  that you can name. It can easily erase any energy blockages within your body; but it will do nothing of its own accord. You have to “squeeze” it, (for lack of a better term). The more mantra that you perform, the more meditation that you practice, the “tighter” the space available in this energy “holding tank” becomes.

When this vast storehouse of potential energy begins to build up pressure from being squeezed, it has to go somewhere – in this case, “up” – back the way it came. But because of the constriction that you have placed upon it through your meditative disciplines, it is dramatically and exponentially more focused and powerful than when it came in. You go from being diffuse “sunlight,” to being the power and energy of the sun itself. That’s a BIG difference.

If you continue in your disciplines, this spiritual energy will eventually make its way back to the “crown” chakra, and will have purged all of the “junk” it encountered on the way. It depends on the person as to how long this process may take. It can vary widely. When one has brought one’s energy to this place, there is the total merging and union with the Divine. At this point, one has many options as to “what to do.” [These options are something to perhaps write upon at a later date].

While this process is occurring, there is much magic that can happen. Problems can simply vanish, you can experience powerful visions and receive great spiritual revelations, or you may find yourself in the role of a “healer.” This same energy that is flowing back up your spiritual “spinal cord” may also flow from you to others as well. There are those that can channel this energy in such ways – facilitating a physical or mental healing in another, by touch, words of wisdom and revelation, or simply by their presence. It is quite amazing to experience.

And now an abrupt end. It seems that I have nothing else to add at this moment.

Between the last post and this one, I feel that the picture is still not complete. It isn’t a new picture, but the way that I am being given to express it is unfinished. So, stay tuned if you’re interested!

Many Blessings To All…

“More Power Than You Can Imagine is RIGHT THERE – use it!…”

A most interesting revelation has been developing within me over the past several days of meditation.

I refer to it as a revelation, not necessarily because it has never occurred to anyone before, but because it has begun that critical move from my head to my Spirit, and now back to my head. That is the circular route that all true spiritual wisdom must make: it starts in your mind, works its way down to the Sacred Heart of the Indwelling Spirit, (where it is comprehended energetically and re-packaged in way that your brain can use), and then sent back up to your mind. At that point, it is no longer a philosophical/intellectual exercise, but knowledge, and real, usable spiritual power. [I wrote about this back on November 19th, in the blog, "Got Wisdom?"...].

“So what is this ‘revelation’ about?” Well, I’m glad you asked!

It is really, more than anything, a powerful analogy about the essence and power that each of us IS. (As an aside, in this case, that is how the Indweller turned my intellectual construct into a usable power by re-framing the Truth into a functional analogy. That may sound rather mundane, but it isn’t – it’s HUGE. Why do you suppose Jesus used so many parables? But I digress].

You are standing in a field on a bright, sunny day. For this revelatory analogy, the light and heat of the sun represents the power and energy of the Divine Source, (and as I always say, you can name it what you wish – the name that you use does not change it). And the “field” is the entire cosmos – EVERYTHING. With me so far?

This sunlight is producing heat, and you can see this light in every direction that you care to look, (it’s a big field). It is everywhere, all-pervasive, including within you – but because of the illusion of duality, because of the mind and ego’s proclivity to consider themselves as separate from this “sun,” you may not be aware of the fact that the sun and heat that you see is also YOU, and the grass, and the trees, and the sky, etc.

If you take a stroll for fifty yards across this field, you find that it does not feel any different. It is the same sun, the same temperature…no difference. In this “field” in which you are standing, this energy is relatively evenly dispersed. But you can “mess with it” if you want.

You can take out a little magnifying glass and focus this dispersed power to start a fire. If you do this, what have you done? You have simply gathered some of this dispersed energy into a much more narrow channel, which exponentially increased the power.

The very same thing happens with water when you use a pressure-washer. A diffuse energy is “forced” into a more narrow opening, and you go from a gentle flow of water to a scouring, blasting force that can remove a lot of obstacles – quickly.

YOU are a vessel of the Supreme Power of the cosmos – an unstoppable energy. Add a few dollars to this information and you might be able to score some caffeine at the local coffee shop. BUT, when you reach the place where you fully realize the Truth that this Power not only IS you, but is also all around you to draw from as needed, and that your body, mind, and intention is the magnifying glass, the pressure-washer that is the tool that can “narrow the channel” and exponentially increase what was once diffuse and of little value, well…to use some sports parlance, “that’s a game-changer.”

Does the sunlight object when you focus it through the magnifying glass? No. It is at your command, and will do your bidding without objection or opinion. How about the water in the pressure-washer? No, it doesn’t care, either.

So, back to the Spirit. This may come as a shock to you, but it doesn’t care, either. It IS you, and surrounding you, waiting for you to use it. It is like the sunlight in that field; pervasive, with unlimited potential. And its power is never reduced by your use of it. But mostly, we allow it to remain “diffuse,” which would be a slap in the face to the Supreme, (if it had a petty ego). All that is necessary is for you to see it all around you, to know that it surrounds you in unlimited abundance, and draw it into a tighter space by your focus.

YOU are the gathering device – this power is for you to wield. Jesus did it in his healing and teaching, Buddha did it in his teaching, Eastern healers who use the prana to heal are doing it. The great sages of history did it.

You are vast…expansive. And this body that you have is the “tube” that squeezes that squeezes that vast and expansive power, taking it from diffuse to laser-like. Mediation, prayer, mantra, faith – these are the tools for bringing this power into your life.

I feel as though I have not covered this revelation as well as I had hoped, Too much turkey, perhaps, and too late of an hour. But I am not hard to find.

Ask me questions. Share your comments. We can grow together in this embrace of Divine power;

Many Blessings To All…
